Weekly book Meme hosted Breaking the Spine.

 The Outcast Prince #1
by Shona Husk
 Blurb:
"Caspian Mort can feel the history in anything he touches, a gift he inherited from his father, the Crown Prince of Annwyn. Devastated over his ex-wife's infidelity, Caspian has withdrawn from human contact except when working as an antiques dealer.

While assessing the contents of the historic Callaway House he encounters the beautiful Lydia Callaway and senses that her home is haunted by a banished fairy. But what does the dangerous exile want? Unbeknownst to Lydia, she's the owner of the last remaining portal to Annwyn—a mirror hidden somewhere in the house. To keep Lydia safe, Caspian will have to divulge the secrets of his heritage, and risk losing his heart again.

Why?:

Because I loved this author's goblin series and this one sounds promising as well.

Review - Boundless

Boundless #3
Cynthia Hand
Goodreads

"The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life.

Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California - and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.

As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfill her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.

In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all."

My Initial Thoughts: Like the series.
Genre: YA - Paranormal - Angels
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥ Hearts

** I do recommend reading Radiant novella before starting this. Adds an extra layer of knowledge to the story.**

Good end to a great series. I really liked how everything came together in this book; how everything in the three books and one novella led to the climax. how the lives of the four angel-bloods are all woven tied together. The whole purpose and vision bits were really great also. Some of my favorite bits were the moments with Sam and the trip down memory lane.

Unlike the other books, I thought the romance was lacking. Based on everything in the novella and this book, it was obvious whom her heart belonged to and what little new developments with the boys were small. It almost felt like the romantic tension was simply carried over from the last book and she was still sitting on her swing going back and forth. That aside, I do think her responses to certain things felt real.

The ending is interesting. It solves the whole purpose bit and things "wrap up." And yet, it has the open ended feeling. Things turn out a certain way for all characters involved and yet you get the feeling that nothing is set in stone. I think, considering all that happens in the book and whom she chooses, it is the best possible ending having that bit of a 'future to come vibe' going on.
